TEDx arrives in Tampere

TED is on a worldwide mission to spread good ideas. This spirit arrives in Tampere on November 29th, when a locally organised TEDx event explores today's educational challenges.

TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) is a global series of conferences formed to disseminate “ideas worth sharing.”

Owned by Sapling, a private not-for-profit foundation, TED started in 1984 as a one-off event. It has grown to be a globally influential series featuring influential speakers such as former US president Bill Clinton, author Isabel Allende, and designer Philippe Starck. While talks are posted online for free, event tickets can cost several thousand euros. TED holds three yearly conferences, two in California and TEDGlobal in Edinburgh, Scotland. Attendance is by application only.

TED’s little brother TEDx allows individuals, communities, and organisations to create TED-like experiences locally. Tampere will be the proud host of the independently organized event on November 29th.

TEDx TampereED is created by education sciences students at the University of Tampere and will include topics such as education export to Abu Dhabi and new learning solution ideas. The event is already sold-out, but you can follow it online via:
